Cylinder 4 has no sept 10 stamp i think this is a real example with a light roll of the war scene. I think the parts are real 1860. Gun has a light brown patina. I have no doubt it was military. Per colt's online database, serial number indicates manufacture in 1862. Web the revolver is serial number 88848, which indicates that it was produced early in colt’s 1863 production, which ran from approximately #85,000 to #150,000. Web doesn't look like there is a cartouche on the grips, but the 66,000 serial range does put it in 1862, and pretty much everything was going to the military, especially early war. The total production consisted of more than 200,000. It is also one of the 58,995 revolvers delivered by colt to the us military during 1863.
